International exchange 11: Feedback by Yuma Sumi

On thinking about family

It would be hard for some of us, to find any familiar topics concerning "family". Since all of the writers in this project, including me, are not even married, the idea of family here, is just something that has been there around us from the day we were born, and that scarcely comes up to our mind. Especially for those who have never been away from their family for long periods of time, I suppose this was the first time to think what, to them, is family like.
Reading all the essays here, I found it interesting that it would affect their opinion on family if they share a borderline with their family. The word "borderline" I mean, is a difference of the situation between you and your family; for Elisa Rudolf, which is a distance to Spain; for Hirofumi Tokumiya, which is a generation gap making his way of thinking a genuine Japanese; and for Akihiro Miyata, a commenter on this project, which is why he got bewildered, holding a pen.
I, kind of, let it alone how they write on the topic, but it satisfied me that all of us somehow reflected their background on the essay, for that clarifies where we came from and gives us a chance to rethink who we are. It is my pleasure if you would have a thought-provoking journey with this project, and give us any sort of feedback at our Facebook page or e-mail address.
