　前号 “Define your discipline.” の後継企画です。あなたのdiscipline（専門分野）をdefend（擁護）してください。
　字数は1600 字/800words 程度を上限とします。自身の所属とdefend するdiscipline を本文とは別に付記してください。
　「Discipline」と言う語には「学問分野」という意味がありますが、この語はまた「規律」「訓練」という意味を併せ持っています。私たちが考えようとしているdiscipline とは、狭義のdiscipline としての「学問分野」のみならず、訓練を経て成立した規律、物事の評価の枠組としてのdiscipline でもあります。その意味で、たとえば哲学には哲学のdiscipline が、バレエにはバレエのdiscipline があるということができるというわけです。
　このことからただちにわかるのは、discipline とはその本質からして普遍的なものではありえず、常に攻撃にさらされている、vulnerable な状態にあるということです。実際に、私たちのdiscipline は、言論的な批判によっても親や政府からの経済的な圧力によっても、たえず攻撃される可能性があるのです。
　しかしながら、私たちはなんらかのdiscipline に身を投じなければ、あらゆる意味で、特に経済的に、生きて行くことができません。このvulnerability のなかで、なんとかあなたのdiscipline をdefend してみてください。どのようにすればdisciplineをdefend したことになるのか、それは私にもまだよくわかりません。刺激的な投稿を期待しています。

　本企画は、第５号出版後、新論説集「マージナリア」公式ウェブサイトに全文が転載されます。
　執筆希望者は7月15日（水）までに、参加の旨を編集部にまでお伝えください。

Ｅ "Defend your discipline.

　This project is following “Define your discipline” in the last number. Please defend your discipline this time.
　The word limit is about 800. Please add your title and your discipline you try to defend.

　“Discipline”, this word means a field of study, but it also means moral and training. The “discipline” we want to think over is not only the one as a field of study in the narrow sense, but also that as moral or the framework to evaluate something established through the training. In this sense, for example, we can say that there is the discipline of philosophy in philosophy, or that there is the discipline of ballet in ballet.
　We can find from it that essentially, the discipline is vulnerable, not universal, and always exposed to offence. In fact, our discipline may be offended by the speech criticism or the economic pressure from our parents or the government.
　However, we must throw ourselves in any discipline; otherwise we cannot survive in any sense, especially for financial reasons. It is hard to say there is the certain way of defending the discipline. For I don’t know it yet, either. Please try to manage to defend your discipline with this vulnerability.
