☞ 新論説集「マージナリア」第５号へようこそ！
新論説集「マージナリア」第5号へ向けて、広く原稿を募集いたします。この「広く」ということが重要であります。というのもこの活動にとって何より重要なのは、広い文脈の中でそれぞれが自らの位置を、願わくば役割を認めることだからです。「広い文脈」とは何でしょうか。例えばこう言えるでしょう。「およそどのような活動も社会の中でなされるものである」と。しかしこう言ってしまうと、あまりに当然のことのように聞こえるので、むしろその意味が認めづらいかもしれません。ですが例えば、未発見の素粒子の研究や「現実離れ」した芸術作品の創作、古代哲学の読解といったものもやはり現実の社会の中でなされる活動なのだと言えば、この主張の意図は伝わるのではないでしょうか。一目には社会と結びつきにくいものも、必ず社会の中で行われています。とすれば、各々の活動が社会の中でどういう意義を持っており、あるいは持ちうるのか、そしてそれをどう捉え表現することができるのか、こういったことを自覚する必要があるのではないでしょうか。
今回「マージナリア」では、そうした問題意識を共有したいと考えています。「広い文脈」というのは、ただ独りで多くの事柄を考えるということではありません。多くの言葉を聞くことと、反省する力とが必要です。この「マージナリア」においても皆様の協力を得て、広い文脈を実現できれば、と願っています。

☞ Welcome to Marginalia No.5!
We widely invite you to contribute your essays to Marginalia No.5. It is this "widely" that matters, because the most important thing of Marginalia is to make each one of us recognize, in the wide context, the role we should play in society, and what is required for that position.What is the meaning of the wide context? It is often said that every activity is done in society, but this common statement remains unclear yet, without taking some examples. Let's think about a research of undiscovered elementary particles, a creative activity of "unrealistic" art, or an interpretation of ancient philosophy. Such an activity, however it seems irrelevant to society, must be also done in society. Isn't it necessary then, to realize the social significance of our activity, and to explain why it is so important for the rest of us?
In this sense, Marginalia shares our curiosity we all should have, with people involved in a wild range of jobs and studies. Instead of thinking of many things alone, all we need here is to listen to many voices and to reflect our opinion on them. We look forward to your positive contributions and wish you would realize what a wide context you are in.
