企画番号F「Define your discipline.」/ C6 "Define your discipline."

質問:　あなたの学問・専門を定義してください。

注意:

• 200字/ 50 words 以内でお答え下さい。
• 何を対象に選ぶかはお任せします。
• 対象とする学問・専門の階層についてもお任せします。例えば、理学で書いてもいいし、物理学で書いてもいいし、さらに専門的な分野についてでも構いません。
• 複数の学問・専門について定義してくださっても構いません。その場合にはそれぞれについて200字/ 50 words 以内でお答え下さい。
• ただし、寄稿できる文章の数は1人あたり3編までとします。

ねらい:　学問・専門はどのように分類・統一できるのか、という疑問が本企画立案の発端となりました。企画番号C「短評」は、( 学問・専門を背景とした) 個人の考え方に焦点を当てています。それに対して本企画では、その個人の学問・専門そのものの考え方に焦点を当てます。本企画の次の段階としては、第5号以降で他人の学問・専門を定義することを考えています。「短評」との比較や、同じ学問・専門に対する複数人による定義の比較をすることで、当初の疑問への答えや、新しい可能性を見出したいと考えています。


　本企画は、第4号出版後、新論説集「マージナリア」公式ウェブサイトに全文が転載されます。
　執筆希望者は12月31日（水）までに、参加の旨を編集部にまでお伝えください。提出先は注意事項を参照。
　提出期限は2月8日（日）。

Task: Define your field of study.
Notes:

• Write about 1 field in 1 writing, in no more than 50 words (in English) or 200 characters (in Japanese).
• You can select your topic from all levels of your discipline. For example, Science, Physics or more specialized field such as particle physics... Any of them makes a good topic.
• You can choose up to 3 topics.

Purpose:
How can we classify various academic disciplines and give a uniform explanation of that classification? This question triggers my proposal of this project. While C3 "Short Review" (by T.Takahashi) focuses on your personal way of thinking, my interest is centered to the general approach(es) characteristic to a certain academic discipline.
　　I am thinking of taking up "Exchange Definition", which means defining other people's academic discipline, in the next number of Marginaria. After that, I'm planning of comparing one answer with another in order to figure out an answer to my original question or new insights into this theme.

All the writings of "Define your discipline." will be uploaded to the official website of the Project Marginalia.
