Phase 2: 徳宮博文『謎の書き方』に対する、鷲見雄馬のexpression

　　Nothing about the mystery is written here. For if a thing is written in the way psychological or
instructive, what looked like a mystery is gone. Although the mystery supposedly existing in Hirofumi’s essay is never gone, something was written. This is the reason I do not find any mysteries in it and say that he did not refer to any methods how to write them.
　　A mystery is nothing: it is just a superficial phenomenon that seems to be a mystery. If you find it futile, and do not want to waste your time on a word that means nothing, stop writing about anything. Take a look at Samuel Becket’s “Play”; there is nothing written about, which is commonly called mysterious. It might be said to be about nothing, in the sense that nothing is what it is about, but it is not, just because it lacks aboutness.

Phase 3: 鷲見雄馬のexpressionに対する、徳宮博文の返答

　私は自分の文章を学問と文学に区別していなくて、それは畢竟学問的に書かれた文章であっても文学的にのみ読まれてしまうと思っているからなのだけれども、私の自由投稿をふりかえると夏にはわからないことを書いて冬にわかるようなことを書いているようにもみえて、これをＣＤのＡ面Ｂ面のように定着させてみようかと思わないでもない。
　半年前にはわからない文章を声高に擁護しておきながら、いま伝えようと文章を必死で書いているのはひどく自己矛盾しているようにも思われるかもしれないけれども、私は結論の章だけ読んで事足りるような文章も題名と最初の一ページを一瞥しただけで読まれなくなる文章も書きたくないのだがどうしようということなのである。
　わかる文章もわからない文章も読まれないという矛盾がありしかし私たちはときに快く文章を読むわけで、それをmysteryといってみていたのだろう。論説においてもわかることは命題だが読者が抱く感情は命題ではなく、わからないものが伝わるのである。ならばmysteryをnothingとは私はいいたくはない。mysteryはeverythingいやむしろ、anythingなのではないか。
